What’s Joran van der Sloot Planning Next?
Based upon his initial confession to murder in Peru, Van der Sloot has now taken responsible in court for the pre meditated and brutal murder of then 21-year-old Peruvian student Stephany Flores on June 2, 2010. Van der Sloot was in Peru to play in a card tournament and lost heavily while Flores was a winner, something Joran was well aware of. He invited her to his room where he likely planned to rob her, however when she allegedly used his laptop to search for his name, she found that that very day was related to the disappearance and likely death of American teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba, in fact it was exactly five years to the date from that fateful disappearance and presumed murder.
Joran allegedly flew into a rage and attacked Flores, beating her with his hands, fists, a tennis racket and finally choking and suffocating her. Joran's’ DNA was found under Stephany's fingernails, suggesting she fought back, but lost her life in a valiant but vain attempt to fight against Joran’s overpowering physical size. He then took her money, credit cards and car and fled Peru, only to be captured and brought back to face justice for his horrific crime.
Now Joran has pleaded guilty to Flores’ murder, a crime that could get him a sentence of up to 30 years, but local attorneys’ suggest that due to the crowded conditions in Peruvian prisons, Joran could be released in as soon as seven years, a miscarriage of justice on so many levels for the victim and her family.
Joran has always been a manipulating sociopath whose one and only thought has been himself. He is the sun and everyone else the stars that rotate around him. He cannot feel the pain that he inflicts on others and consistently blames others (Flores should have not gotten into his laptop) as justification for his unthinkable actions. For Jordan to plead guilty in Peru suggests he fully anticipates that his plea will result in a decreased sentence there and in his manipulative mind, he likely believes he’ll be back on the street before he turns 30.
But should he believe he will be held for longer than say 5 – 7 years, if he actually believes he face decades in prison in Peru, he likely has a plan two and even a plan three.
Plan two would be to cut a deal where he could be turned over to US authorities to face charges for wire fraud, this stemming from his being charged for having obtained money from the Holloway family in exchange for finally providing the truth concerning the disappearance of Natalee, one more promise he never kept. Arrest warrants exist in America and Joran could, he just could work out a deal where he could be extradited to America, confess to wire fraud, be convicted and sentenced to an given prison term in the US, with the Peruvian authorities allowing his sentence in Peru to run concurrent with his new sentence in an American prison. Two birds with one stone and much better prison conditions and food…
Thirdly, he likely is also considering working out a deal between Dutch, Aruban and Peruvian authorities where he could allow himself to be extradited to Aruba, his former home, where he could agree to finally tell the truth concerning Holloway’s disappearance and presumed death (a court in the U.S. is set to rule her legally dead this week), in exchange for a modified sentence in Aruba that would again run concurrent with the time he needs to finish his Peruvian sentence with the U.S. charges dismissed against him, again something that could see him out of prison and a free man in perhaps 5 – 10 years.
For a sociopath, there is no incentive to tell the truth, no reason to ease the pain of others, unless, of course, he can ease his own pain. For Jordan, prison and the prospect of such for years ahead is a pain, one he may likely attempt to alleviate by actions as indicated above. Imagine a pain free Joran van der Sloot back on the street before he turned 30. What new crimes would he then be capable of, other than a tell all book, that is…
Will this murdering sociopathic, psychopathic monster be allowed to play “let’s make a deal” with any or all of these governments, ones that just may want these cases, and Joran, to just go away? Don’t every think you’ve seen the last of this case, for the best, or worst of Joran van der Sloot is yet to come!
